LULEA, Sweden and RALEIGH, North Carolina, September 26, 2016

Netrounds, a leading provider of innovative, software-based active testing and service assurance solutions for Communications Service Providers (CSPs), and Ensemble, a Division of ADVA Optical Networking, today announced that they will showcase a joint virtualized solution for end-to-end, active quality assurance. This showcase will focus on assuring the connection from enterprise VPN edges to the virtualized application environment inside the datacenter or the cloud core.

The joint demonstration shows interoperability between Netrounds, a recent addition to ADVA's Ensemble Harmony Ecosystem, and ADVA's award-winning Ensemble portfolio through comprehensive active testing of network and service performance in a hybrid environment, including video and voice transport. The demo environment will feature Netrounds' active test and service assurance solution deployed with Ensemble Connector on a COTS platform and also on ADVA's ProVMe platform for ME application and virtual network function hosting.

Benefits of this joint solution include:

  • Improve operational efficiency and decrease costs through automation and the use of an active, software-based test and assurance solution
  • Reduce problem resolution times with real-time visualization of quality across hybrid environments from VPN edge to the core of cloud service providers
  • Improve customer experience through active testing of both the network and service layers to reflect true end-to-end experience from the customer perspective

"Today, connections to the cloud are usually over the public Internet, and performance is not assured. Now, with Netrounds' active test and service assurance capabilities paired with ADVA's ProVM network edge computing series and Ensemble Connector, service providers and enterprises can use virtualized forms of tried-and-true tools to assure performance - all the way from the desktop to the cloud," says Prayson Pate, CTO of Ensemble at ADVA Optical Networking.

"Service providers now have the opportunity to gain end-to-end views of service quality like never before. Software-based testing tools that can concurrently support both physical and virtual network domains in an automated way are critical for agile and assured service deliveries," says Marcus Friman, Chief Product Officer and co-founder of Netrounds.

Visitors to Network Virtualization & SDN Asia and 5G Asia in Singapore on September 27-28 can see the live demo by visiting Netrounds in booth #1 or ADVA in booth #3.
